Defining your information needs (LOIN)

We set the information requirements: geometric levels (LOG) and information levels (LOI). From these we draw up a project-specific BIM execution plan (BEP), compliant with ISO 19650 and the Open BIM standards of buildingSMART International, based on the exchange information requirements defined for your project (EIR). All of this is available to every party involved.

Assuring quality through the CDE

The Common Data Environment gives everyone visibility and makes collaboration easier throughout the project life cycle. We manage files to IFC and BCF standards. Transfers run daily, following the delivery plans MIDP (Master Information Delivery Plan) and TIDP (Task Information Delivery Plan), consistent with the BEP.

As-built BIM

Modelling existing buildings from point clouds (Scan-to-BIM) captures the real geometry with a laser scanner to produce a digital model true to what is there. Since BIM took hold, this step has become essential: you start from what actually stands, not from archive drawings that are often out of date.

What we get asked most often

What is Scan-to-BIM?
Scan-to-BIM means capturing the real geometry of an existing building with a 3D laser scanner, then turning the resulting point cloud into a workable digital model. It is the standard method for documenting an existing building before refurbishment, conversion or taking over its management.
In what formats do you deliver the models?
In native Revit format and in IFC, the Open BIM standard. IFC ensures your model stays readable by any BIM software, today and in ten years' time, without depending on one vendor.
To what level of detail do you model?
Up to LOD 5. The level is agreed with you up front through the LOIN requirements: geometric level (LOG) and information level (LOI). Modelling finer than needed costs money and adds nothing, which is why we settle this at the very first stage.
Do you work to ISO 19650?
Yes. Our BIM execution plans (BEP) are drawn up in accordance with ISO 19650 and the Open BIM standards of buildingSMART International, based on your project's exchange information requirements (EIR). Our team includes a buildingSMART-certified professional.
Do you model the building services?
Yes, MEP services are modelled alongside the architecture and structure. We also carry out clash detection between services, before the problem shows up on site.
Do you need BIM software to view the model?
No. Our models can be viewed in an ordinary browser through BIMREVO : IFC models, point clouds and 360° tours, with measurement and annotation, nothing to install and no licence for the people you share with.
