Mass capture of geospatial data.

This technique captures data efficiently along a route — roads, railways, tunnels, utility networks — using a vehicle-mounted system combining a high-resolution camera and GNSS. The images are turned into a workable 3D model, processed in QGIS with the Orbit plugin.

Capture happens at traffic speed, with no lane closure and no work on the ground. The views are tied to the national MN95 system, then structured and brought into your existing GIS layers .

What we get asked most often

What is mapping mapping?
A vehicle-mounted capture system continuously records georeferenced imagery along a route. The result looks like Street View, but it is tied to coordinates — so it can be measured and used in a GIS.
When is it better than a conventional survey?
On long linear assets: roads, railways, utility networks, tunnels. A ground survey would take several days and require traffic management; mapping capture happens on the move, without disrupting traffic.
Is the data georeferenced?
Yes. Positioning is handled by GNSS during capture. The imagery and the extracted features come with coordinates, ready to overlay onto the cadastre and your existing GIS layers.
What can be extracted from the captured data?
An inventory of street furniture and signage, the condition of surfaces, visible utility covers, clearance envelopes and the geometry of the carriageway. Extract happens on the imagery, with no return to site.
How do you handle visible personal data?
Imagery captured in public space may include faces and number plates. Blurring and the terms of release are agreed with you before delivery, according to the intended use and who will see it.
In what form is the data delivered?
The imagery can be viewed in a GIS environment or published in a map portal. Extracted features are delivered as vector layers, ready to go into your existing database.
